MAS FOULAQUIER, LES CALADES PIC SAINT-LOUP, 6 Bottle Case 75cl

Mas Foulaquier was founded in 1998 by Swiss architect, Pierre Jéquier. There are 11 hectares in total, 3 of which are owned by Pierre's business partner and fellow winemaker, Blandine Chauchet, who added her parcels of 50 year-old Carignan and Grenache vines in 2003. The estate is situated in the increasingly fashionable Pic Saint-Loup region, Languedoc's most northerly appellation, and all the wines are biodynamic. 'l'Orphee' is a 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah and is aged in oak for 2 years.

The Syrah in this blend gives it a dark, purple colour, which reveals a floral, fruity nose. It has a bit of spice and lots of minerality from the limestone in the soil. A complex and elegant natural blend.
