Brilliant garnet in colour this wine has a distinctly spiced bouquet. With its balanced tannins and rounded structure we are able to appreciate notes of raspberry and spices in the mouth.

Domaine Jean Javillier is situated in the village of Meursault in Burgundy's Cote d'Or. There are 7.5 hectares in all (4ha red, 3ha white and .5ha Aligoté) and the estate has been registered as organic since 1972. Today the estate is run by Alain Javillier who inherited the estate form his father, Jean - the driving force behind the estate's conversion to organics. Yields are eye-wateringly low and fermentation is short (at an average of 12 days).Only naturally occurring yeasts are used and the wines are aged in old oak barrels for 12-14 months. The resulting wines are round and ripe with well balanced tannins and a juicy acidity.

Organic
