DOMAINE ELIAN DA ROS, Côtes du Marmandais, CHANTE COUCOU ROUGE, 6 Bottle Case 75cl
It was in 1998 that Elian Da Ros, a good friend of Nady Foucault, returned to the Côtes du Marmandais to take over the running of his father’s 5ha vineyard, having spent 5 years working at the iconic Domaine Zind-Humbrecht. Since then, Elian no longer delivers the grapes to the local coop and has ensured that Marmandais is properly on the quality wine map, due to his hard work and determination. Today, Elian is regarded as a pioneer for the region, raising the flag for wines of distinction.
The wine has a dense ruby color with dark reflections. The deep nose confirms a delicately extracted, elegant material, where the aromas of black fruit, blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry mingle with notes of blackcurrant bud, rose petal, violet, peppermint and cedar. A nicely wooded support encompasses the whole and brings its hint of vanilla. The palate demonstrates elegance from the start with a very pronounced black fruitiness. The flavors of blackcurrant and morello cherry charm and perfectly coat supple and fine tannins; a nice volume in the mouth ensures full harmony, and a touch of freshness reinforces the perception of finesse, auguring good aging.
