Calicantus Soracuna 6 Bottle Case 75cl

The Soracuna wine of Calicantus is a co-harvest of local grapes, Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, and Merlot from three parcels of vineyard in Veronese pergola located on the hills just above the village of Bardolino. The name Soracuna comes from the local Veneto dialect for the Italian ‘sopra la culla’ , or “above the cradle,” a phrase that means “to celebrate a birth” – an apt name for a wine which was first created following the birth of their first daughter.

The wine is a deep and dark ruby colour. Unfiltered and unfined, this is an earthy and rustic expression of the local grapes and a naturally made wine to provide a juicy and quaffable food-friendly red. Medium-full bodied, you will see the wine has intense aromas of red and dark fruits,  hints of fresh and also maraschino cherries. Layered in profile, the finish is complemented with earthy notes, spices to a moreish lip-smacking finish.
