This wine is made from a blend of 86% Zinfandel, 4% Petit Syrah, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Syrah, 2% Merlot, 4% Mixed Red. The Zinfandel vines are 19 years old and grow in clay loam soil. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks with 3 pumpovers daily. The wine was then aged for 15 months in oak barrels (33% new)
Deep garnet, the nose is a generous mix of stewed black fruits, warm toasted spices, dried fig and prune. The palate has fresher fruit with characters of blackberry and plum which are complemented by vanilla, pepper and clove spice. The fine grain tannins give nice structure making this feel like a serious Zin.
Stunning with red meat roasts and great for the 'posh BBQ'. Also good with crispy duck and food with hoisin sauce!
