Don Maximiano Errazuriz, a genuine pioneer and visionary – in 1870, he planted the very first French varietals in Aconcagua, riding out of Santiago for 60 miles until he found what he considered the perfect site. Errazuriz, now under the leadership of Eduardo Chadwick, Decanter magazine Man of the Year 2018, still has vineyards in the Aconcagua Valley today, alongside others in Casablanca Valley and Curico Valley. Its wine has wowed critics for years and became the first Chilean winery to achieve 100 points.
