Macon-Loché Cuvee du Clocher Domaine Tripoz, biodynamic, clean, zesty, bright Chardonnay from this lesser known village of the Maconais. As the name suggests, this wines is as clear as a bell - lovely clean fruit, taught minerality and a splash of cream to round it out. This wine is fermented and matured in tanks so as not to mar the sense of terroir. A really excellent example of one of Burgundy's sub-regions, and of Chardonnay's incredible ability to adapt to it's surroundings. Perfect for shellfish or as an aperitif.

Celine and Laurent Tripoz have 11 hectares just outside of Loché in the Maconnais. They believe that the only way to express a true sense of terroir is to work naturally. Therefore, they have been completely free of herbicides and chemicals since 2001, and gained certified organic and biodynamic status in 2006. They do everything on site and make elegant wines that speak of this wonderful part of France.
