Fresh, elegant yet complex, an outstanding example of barrel fermented white wine! Lovely deep body, golden mature fruit, mushroom on the nose and palate, sublime!
Terroir: Orbois vines have been planted on clay- limestone soil, the Sauvignon vines on clay silty sand stone over calcareous soil.
Age of vines: 25 years old vines for Orbois & 50 years old vines of Sauvignon.
Vinification: Grapes are hand-picked. Wine is aged in oak barrels for 10 months on lees. Then the wine is racked in cement tank to remove the dead yeast, and both grape varieties are blended. After 2 months, the wine is bottled. Bottling with light filtration, no fining.
Domaine de Veilloux dates back to the French Revolution. Michel and Sylviane bought Domaine in 1994, and right from the very beginning, they implemented organic and biodynamic practices. The Quenioux family put a lot of energy into their 25 hectares of land, their work is very precise and their wines are stunning.
