Introduction into Wine 'Fun and Informal'

We had a very successful events schedule last year, and we're back with more this summer!

Previous events included Pinotage Week including an authentic South African braai, the English Wine Festival with artist Val Littlewood and fabulous, social Art and Wine evenings with Nathan Meyers from Nathan's Art Shop.

Our regular Friday night tastings quickly developed into informative, fun masterclasses where world-renowned producers share their expertise with our customers. Kevin Judd from Cloudy Bay, the Burges from Barossa's Grant Burge Wines and natural/organic wine supplier Les Caves de Pyrene were just some of the highlights.

Each evening is fun, informal but full of bite-sized wisdom in

  • tasting techniques
  • the importance of the senses when tasting wine: colour, smell, taste and after taste
  • the major grape varieties
  • food and wine matching (including some scrumptious titbits)
  • the 'value' of wine; is a £16 bottle better than a £6 bottle?
  • tasting of 6 to 10 wines

Every evening is unique and moulded around a particular region, wine style, producer, etc. and includes tibits from local Battersea artisans such as Gail's, Jamie Oliver's Recipease and Hamish Johnston. Salmanazar Winner

We finally drew the winning ticket on Friday the 23rd of December, for the whooping 9 litres of Champagne in one bottle, the ticket was independently drawn by James of SDS a local business close to the shop. Happily the winner was (Charles and Camilla) who are very local and uses our shop frequently, so congratulations and 'Bottoms Up' P.s if you need a hand drinking it do let us know.

Supper Club at North & South Wines


Its time to get your appetites at the ready, as we prepare to bring you another evening of Art, Fine Dining and Wine Tasting. Following the
success of our previous event we shall, in true pop up style, be once again transforming North & South Wines into a bistro restaurant.

We will be carefully be selecting the wines to accompany each course, and in true wine tasting spirit, will be describing each choice of wine to help give a better understanding of how to pair wines and food!

Expect a champagne reception and canapes on arrival, followed by a further three courses of delicious food, and equally lovely wine to
wash it down with!

Nathan from Nathan's Art Shop will be there to provide the visuals, and they look stunning!

Food and Drink is all included in the £50 price. 

For what promise to be another Supperb (excuse the pun!) and unique evening of great company, and lovely dinner and drink!
